Gymnasts will be selected into the performance group sections based on a number of factors, including natural ability, willingness to learn, ability to follow instructions and apply and retain feedback and work ethic. We offer a Display group, a Mini and Development pathway for younger gymnasts showing promise, and then graded sections.
We regularly assess gymnasts’ flexibility, strength, individual skills and performance qualities across the whole club and transitions into the Performance Group are made based on each individual’s age and stage of development and will be discussed with gymnasts (and parents where necessary) before any changes are made.
As a new club we are striving to offer gymnasts the best opportunity to progress within the club at a competitive level, however, it is important that parents and gymnasts understand that their space is not guaranteed indefinitely and it is a huge commitment, both financially and time-wise to pursue sport at a competitive level.
Decisions made by the coaching team on groupings and partnerships are made with the best interests of each individual gymnast and their individual ongoing progression and the individual path of every gymnast is unique.
Gymnasts who are working within an acrobatic partnership are expected to commit to the sport for the full competitive year (April to April).
At this competition level, all gymnasts require ‘silver level membership’ to allow participation within the club and at events. This is compulsory, provides insurance for your gymnast, and must be renewed annually by 1 September each year.
Training frequency: Several times per week, up to 15 hours
